About the musicians:
Jonas Schoen’s music and playing show an
extraodinary emotional depth regardless of
instrumentation and style.
His musical sources of inspiration span from
80‘s Punk to contemporary classical music,
jazz being the starting point of his professional
career offering the most freedom for his
exploring character. His works include two
bigband albums, orchestral works, five albums
with his quartet, classical compositions for solo
instruments, chamber music, funk/soul/hiphop
projects and adaptions/recompositions of
music by Bartok, Prokofiev and Beethoven.
Growing up in Ireland, Timmy Boomer was
steeped in the traditional folk music
surrounding him. This ignited his passion for
music early on and lead him to study Jazz at
the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
This combination has produced an artist with
one foot deep rooted in his Irish musical
heritage, while the other is firmly planted in the
contemporary jazz movement, fusing the two
to create a unique voice.
