Seit Januar 2013 zieht die Konzertreihe durch deutsche Städte und hisst skandinavische Fahnen.

Echo Me
Hinter Echo Me steht der junge Kopenhagener Musiker Jesper Madsen. Jesper ist neu in
der dänischen und deutschen Musikszene. aber sicherlich kein unbedarfter junger
Songwriter. Bereits im Alter von 10 Jahren bediente er sich der Plattensammlung seiner
Eltern und lieh sich u. a. Texte von Simon & Garfunkel, Bruce Springsteen oder
Creedence Clearwater Revival für seine eigenen ersten Kompositionen. Sein
musikalischer Output wurde über die Jahre immer grösser und verlangt nun nach einem
ersten eigenen Album.
Im Sommer/Herbst 2011 lebte er frei entschlossen”auf der Strasse” , um all seine Zeit und
sein Schaffen auf seine musikalischen Träume zu fokussieren – in dieser Zeit hatte er
keine eigene Wohnung, sondern lebte vor allem in seinem Proberaum.
Das Ergebnis ist ein schlüssiges, kompromissloses Folk-Album mit einem klaren
nordischen Klang, inspririert von diversen Reisen rund um die Welt. Besonders die Touren
durch Amerika mit seiner langen Folk-Tradition finden sich als Einfluss in seiner Musik
wieder. Jesper´s grossartige facettenreiche und dennoch unangestrengte Stimme entführt
den Zuhörer in ein Gefühlsuniversum mit Ecken und Kanten.
Vor Erscheinen seines Debütalbums hat Jesper bereits mehr als 200 Konzerte in
verschiedenen Städten in Dänemark, London, New York, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin,
Bremen, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Brüssel, Providence und Austin,Texas gespielt.
Jet Flower
”We Walk Alike”, the title of Jet Flowers debut album is a very apt name since
Jet Flower is not a ‘normal’ band in the classic sense.
As Jakob Gravlund puts it “ We do not believe in the idea of a vocalist in front and the rhythm section in the back. We have no vocalist. “Jet Flower” has four ‘voices’, each contributing and expressing themselves in equal shares through their instruments.”
Jet Flower is a band with references to folk, indie and post rock and with inspiration from artists such as Elliott Smith and Fleet Foxes.
The music includes quiet and attentive passages within, at times, complex compositions tied together in a rustic sounding universe.
The Album is the result of 12 months of song writing in an old shack at Refshaleøen with a view overlooking Copenhagen Harbour, a bankrupt repair shop/garage and the local beach bar.
The Band spent three weeks in a studio in Vanløse, a residential suburb of Copenhagen, where the songs took their final form and were recorded in the old-fashioned way with analogue mixer, valve amplifier and upright piano.
Some of the songs were recorded live in the studio, where the band was fortunate to enjoy input from a number of gifted guest musicians, including
Tina Dickow amongst others.
Concerning the first single ”The Last Broadcast”, Mikkel Boström explains: “The inspiration of the song is direct from Copenhagen Harbour where a huge American yacht was moored. The ship was guarded by security and video cameras. Only in occasional glimpses were people seen leaving the ship. It was in many ways a modern fortress, and the idea of creating a protected mini society is the central theme to this song.”
“We Walk Alike” represents a thousand stories condensed and woven into 10 songs spread over 38 minutes. Jet Flowers storytelling does not comprise literal narratives of events, but rather interpretations of the band members’ lives and those of the characters that surround them in the complex fabric of experience.
The songs are inspired by the life around Refshaleøen where the principal characters span from Polish workers living in lean-tos, to billionaires on their luxury yachts.
We Walk Alike” will be released by Für Distribution on Friday April 19th and will be followed by an autumn tour in Germany.
